Welcome to the end of the summer reading program! We are at 421 hours as of this moment--that's 211 items for the NHSPCA and RCA Food Bank :) Keep reading and reporting... Also, due to the unusual nature of our Final Party, you may still sign up for this last week.
Monday, 12:00pm--Sandwiches & Stories: The Olympics! Come prepared for epic games and crafts and Olympic stories.
Tuesday, 4:00pm--Stuffed Animal Sleepover. Bring your SECOND-favorite animal to the library (not the one you can't sleep without!). We'll read a story and make nametags, then you'll leave your animal here overnight. You may pick your animal up any time after noon on Wednesday--they'll have a book with pictures of their overnight adventures :) This is recommended for ages 0-7--if you have someone outside that age that feels strongly, please contact me :)
Thursday, 10:00am--READATHON! Please read carefully :) We will be reading, yes, but there's a lot more to it than that. We'll have comfy reading spots, the listening center (6 headphones for group story listening), periodic story times, and, for our youngest attendees, I'll have my laptop set up with book DVDs (The Pigeon, Harry the Dirty Dog, etc.) for them to watch. There will be another CD player set up with Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone and Harry Potter coloring books for the listeners to work on. All of these activities will count on your reading log :) We'll spend 15 minutes of each hour out running around or playing games; the last game will be mini golf inside the library! I'll have PBJ and chips for lunch (feel free to bring your own if that doesn't work) and we'll have pizza along with our prizes at 5:00pm. You can attend all of this or whatever part fits your schedule. Questions? Email lbricker@sealib.org or call me at 474-2044 (ask for Lisa).
